Celetel Messaging MCP

Let your AI assistant send approved RCS and WhatsApp template messages from your Celetel account — safely. The connector finds your approved templates, checks compliance, prepares one message to one recipient, shows you the exact message for approval, sends it, and tracks delivery. Nothing is ever sent without you approving it.

Before you connect

  1. A Celetel account — the same email/password (and two-step code, if enabled) you use at app.celetel.com.
  2. A scoped API key — create it in the Celetel panel with scopes templates:read, templates:validate, messages:send, messages:read, limited to the RCS and WhatsApp sender configurations you want the assistant to use. You will connect it yourself on the settings page (next section); it is never typed into a chat.
  3. Approved templates on those senders (RCS templates and WhatsApp templates approved by Meta).

Connect

Claude (web, desktop, mobile)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector (or pick Celetel from the directory if listed).
  2. Enter the URL https://mcp.celetel.com/mcp and continue.
  3. Sign in with your Celetel account on the page that opens. You will see which app is connecting (for example claude.ai) before you enter your password.
  4. Open the connector settings page, sign in with the same Celetel account, choose the Celetel backend, paste your scoped API key and name your senders (a label such as support-whatsapp, the channel and the 24-character configuration id). The connector validates the key against Celetel before saving it, encrypted. You can replace the key or disconnect on the same page at any time.
  5. Done. Start a chat and ask, for example: "Send the order-shipped template to +91… with order A-1001."

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http celetel https://mcp.celetel.com/mcp

The first tool call opens your browser for the Celetel sign-in.

ChatGPT and other MCP clients

Add a custom MCP connector with the URL above and OAuth sign-in. Clients that cannot show an approval dialog receive a one-time approval link instead (see below); opening it asks you to sign in with your Celetel account, and only the account that prepared the message can approve it.

How a message gets sent

StepWhat the assistant doesWhat you do
1. Findfind_templates lists approved templates on a senderPick one
2. Checkcheck_compliance looks at opt-outs, quiet hours in the recipient's local time, duplicate sends, allowed countries and daily limitsFix anything blocking
3. Prepareprepare_message validates the template with Celetel and renders the complete message (header media, text, footer, buttons) into an immutable draftReview the preview
4. Approve & sendsend_message asks you to approve the exact message, then sends it onceClick Approve in the dialog, or open the approval link
5. Trackget_message_status and search_messages show status, delivery receipts and your historyAsk any time

The approval shows the sender, recipient, template, every line of text, media and buttons. Changing anything creates a new draft that needs a new approval. Declining sends nothing. Re-running a send never sends twice.

Security and privacy

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE between your AI client and the connector; your Celetel password goes only to Celetel's login service and is never stored; API keys are encrypted at rest and scoped to your senders; every approval and send is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log. Details: privacy policy. Report security issues via celetel.com/contact.
